Frequently Asked Questions

wild peromyscus deer mouse pest in bait station rodent control rodenticide

What types of animals do you control?

We specialize in rats, mice and voles using a variety of techniques. We do not treat for chipmunks, squirrels, bats, insects or other wildlife.

Is this program really free?

Yes! The initial assessment and all subsequent treatment services are completely free. We offer these services free of charge because we are interested in gathering information about what rodents like to eat so we can continue to create the best baits available for pest control professionals and property owners alike. This is a mutually beneficial program: you get free rodent control and we get relevant research insights.

What types of properties do you work with?

Lots of different kinds! Houses, duplexes, apartments, backyards, restaurants, bars, storage warehouses, art galleries, food pantries, gas stations, farms, food processing plants, breweries, grocery stores, office buildings, urban, rural... you name it! A large variety of property types allows us to gain unique insights and collect a more robust data set. If you have rodents, we want to work with you.

Can I participate in this program if I have kids or pets?

Absolutely! Safety is our top priority. We only use tamper-resistant bait stations that are locked with a key. We also offer a variety of treatment option, including ones that don't involve poison baits at all.

How do I sign up?

Go to our website homepage and fill out a survey through the link. Within a few days, one of our field scientists (all of them are certified pesticide applicators) will contact you to set up an initial assessment and see if your property is a good fit for this program.

Can I sign up with multiple properties?

Yes! You can sign up for as many properties as you think require attention, but you will need to fill out an individual survey for each one. For example: if Mary wants us to inspect her house and the restaurant she runs, she would fill out a residential survey for the house and a business survey for the restaurant.

Why should I choose Got Rodents?

Our field scientists are all certified pesticide applicators and are experts in rodent control. Our parent company (Bell Laboratories Inc.) has been a global leader in the rodent control industry for over 45 years. We have a variety of flexible treatment options and are happy to work with you to meet your needs.

What happens after the study is finished?

After we run a study, the rodent population should be significantly knocked down. However, rodent populations can fluctuate drastically due a variety of contributing factors such as resource availability, seasonal weather changes and landscape disruptions. If you notice an increase in rodent activity at any point in the future, feel free to reach out to us by filling out a new survey. We will come run another assessment to see if we can help!

How long do studies last?

Each treatment plan is uniquely tailored to every client we work with so study lengths can vary. Mice and voles are eager to explore new food sources in their environment. A typical treatment for mice or voles takes 3-4 weeks. Rats tend to be more cautious around new things in their environment (such as bait stations) so studies may take a little longer. A typical treatment for rats takes 5-6 weeks.  Throughout the course of a treatment you will have the full support of one of our field scientists and can opt out of the program at any time.

What if I don't see my question here?

Not to worry! We get lots of interesting and unique questions about our research program and rodents in general. If you have additional questions, feel free to reach out to our field research team using FieldServices@got-rodents.com or through the 'Contact Us' tab. We'll be in touch!
